There are some things from the Unit 3 Major Concepts list that I don't quite understand and I'd like for you to help me out by explaining them?
3.4.4
Can you interpret graphs of acceleration vs force and acceleration vs 1/mass to find additional.... (it stops there)
3.5.1
Do you understand how the constant of proportionality, k, in N2 is determined by the units we.... (it stops there again)
3.6.1
Do you understand how to measure inertial mass?
3.7.2
Can you apply N3 to resolve the horse/cart paradox?

I have no clue about the first two, sorry. The inertial balance measures inertial mass. You can also measure inertial mass by calculating the slope of a Force vs. acceleration graph.
I remember talking about the horse/cart in class. I think it was something about how there was another factor because if the horse and cart both exerted equal amounts of pressure on each other in opposite directions it wouldn't move. But I don't remember the rest.
3.4.4 we did a whole self assessment on these ideas, so you should have them somewhere.
3.5.1 this won't be assessed, but if you understand the HW problem about noggigina, you've got this.
3.6.1 Mary Elizabeth is right on target with this.
3.7.2 you can google horse cart paradox and probably get 100s of reasonable answers. You should start by drawing free body diagrams for the horse and cart.
3.4.4 I'm pretty sure it means "can you find additional info with the graph" These are like the Frictional force or the mass of the cart, etc.
3.5.1 IDK
3.6.1 Mary Elizabeth is right inertial mass is the mass of something that is moving so it = F/mass
3.7.1 The horse thinks he won't be able to move the cart because it exerts the same force on him that he exerts on it. In a sense it's right. But when you make two FBDs (1 horse, 1 cart), then put those together, it shows that in a system the horse merely needs to overcome the frictional force of the ground on wagon with the frictional force of the ground on the horse.
